We tried both the Lor Bak Soba ($15.80) and Signature Chilli Soba with Duck ($15.80)

The soup noodles had a pleasantly firm texture that held up well in the rich broth. Every mouthful was full of umami, while the meat was smoky and so tender that it practically melted in the mouth. This was the bowl I kept returning to.

dry soba

The dry Signature Chilli Soba was noticeably spicier. Mixing the chilli crunch, egg, seaweed and noodles produced a richer, punchier bowl. Go for this if you prefer more heat, but I found the comforting soup version more memorable.

karage

The Har Cheong Karaage ($10) arrived as a huge portion of crisp prawn-paste chicken, making it an easy side to share.

dumplings

The Pork & Chives Wonton, currently listed at ($8.20), came dressed with chilli crunch and black vinegar. It was decent, though closer to the familiar spicy dumplings available elsewhere than a standout dish.
